1. What Cefodizime Sodium for injection is and what it is used for

Cefodizime Sodium for injection is Whitish or pale yellowish crystalline powder.
Cefodizime sodium is a broad-spectrum, third generation cephalosporin. It is highly resistant to a broad spectrum of beta-lactamases produced by most kinds of bacterium. Cefodizime sodium has antibacterial action to several kinds of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. Cefodizime sodium has an immunomodulating activity, i.e. it can serve as a BRM to increase CD4 in the body, which enhances the CD4/CD8 ratio, leading to cooperative eradication of bacrteria. Bacteroides, Acinetobacter, Enterococcus faecalis, Listerella, mycoplasma, chlamydia are resistant to this drug.
The mechanism of Cefodizime sodium antibacterial action is inhibiting the biosynthesis of bacterial cell wall mucopeptides.
