1. What cyclophosphamide for injection is and what it is used for

Cyclophosphamide is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat Hodgkin's lymphoma (Hodgkin's disease) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (types of cancer that begin in a type of white blood cells that normally fights infection); Cyclophosphamide is in a class of medications called alkylating agents. When cyclophosphamide is used to treat cancer, it works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells in your body. When cyclophosphamide is used to treat nephrotic syndrome, it works by suppressing your body's immune system.

2. Before you have cyclophosphamide for injection

Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to cyclophosphamide, other alkylating agents such as bendamustine , busulfan, carumustine , chlorambucil , ifosfamide , lomustine , melphalan, procarbazine , or temozolomide, any other medications, or any of the ingredients in cyclophosphamide injection. Ask your pharmacist for a list of the ingredients.

3. How to have cyclophosphamide for injection

Cyclophosphamide injection comes as a powder to be added to fluid and injected intravenously (into a vein) by a doctor or nurse in a medical office or hospital outpatient clinic. It may also be injected intramuscularly (into a muscle), intraperitoneally (into the abdominal cavity), or intrapleurally (into the chest cavity). The length of treatment depends on the types of drugs you are taking, how well your body responds to them, and the type of cancer or condition you have.
